In my world it it Rule by these four people. The Great Lady and the Great Lords. They're quadupletes. They are know as Earthens, people who are cannected to the soul of the Earth, who's Name is Earthic. The Great Ones (aka the Great Lady and Lords) are the most connected. The Great Lady is known as Child Earth, because her soul is partically the same as Earthic's. One dies, so does the other. When she was born Earthic was being cased in to the Earth by the Light and the Darkness, and his heart passed over her's connecting and merging their souls as one.
